Mary Gudgeon was asking me this a.m. if I had heard anything about Paul Dorsey (a fellow Normandy Blvd. brat) in the aftermath of the recent diaster in the Far East. Apparently Paul has been living in Thailand for several years and his well being came to mind when viewing pictures of the tragedy. Are there any GTOLers who might be in touch with him or his family?

Laurie

Dear Don, Stormie and you too Andy,
Though I'd seen the GTOL site briefly a few months back, I was astonished when Lydia Scott and Sandy (McEachern) Hammink told me last week I'd become a topic.
Many thanks to all who expressed concern in this forum and in other ways. My family and I were indeed high and dry in Bangkok when the tsunami hit further south and, apart from chipping in for a few hours on the relief effort, were completely unaffected.
As a general FYI, I've been in Thailand since '92 apart from a couple of years in Hong Kong and six months in Shanghai -- all newspaper work. I'm a subeditor at The Nation, which bills itself as Thailand's independent daily.
I'm married to a beautiful Thai lady and we have two kids, 10 and 11, who have yet to venture outside the country but are really keen to experience snow -- albeit maybe not as much as what you have right now. Just a little sprinkling, thanks, one of these days.
Best regards to all, and thanks again.

Good to hear from you Paul. You'll be glad to know that in many (good) ways Georgetown is still a small town at heart. Thank you GTOL network!

Laurie Hyde Norrie (formerly 24 Normandy)
